Yala National Park is a light forest of 1270 Sq Km with grassy plains and blackish lagoons rich in wildlife. Wince at the repulsive cooing of magnificent and narcissistic peacocks; exchange a sideways glace with an elephant unhurriedly passing by your vehicle; capture a photo of a Sri Lankan Leopard; startle a herd of chital grazing the grassy marshes; try to count the camouflaged crocodiles patiently waiting for a prey around a waterhole; marvel at indigenous birds chirping from every corner.
